It recognizes a company's successful technology development that is expected to bring significant contributions to the industry in terms of adoption, change, and competitive posture. Product evaluation criteria for the award was based upon the following: broad appeal to the reader community; competitive enhancements; price/performance advantages; technical ingenuity; new features and applications; and serviceability to the market. |

The award is presented to the top ten privately held companies selected as most likely to succeed. Winners were selected from the 79 privately held companies that presented their business plan at the conference. |
