IN ASIA-PACIFIC REGION
Route Analytics Leader Signs SeekerTech as 'Virtual Presence' in Asia,
GuoMai Technologies as Reseller in China
PALO ALTO, Calif., Sept. 25, 2007 – Packet Design, the pioneer in route analytics technology for managing large IP networks, has expanded its sales presence in the Asia-Pacific region, retaining SeekerTech to manage its reseller partners in the region and adding GuoMai Technologies as a new reseller in China.
SeekerTech, which specializes in building Asia-Pacific business for high-technology companies, is working with existing Packet Design Asia-Pacific resellers as well as seeking additional reseller partnerships in China, Taiwan, Korea and Southeast Asian nations such as Vietnam, Thailand and Singapore.
Steve Ackley, Packet Design's vice president of worldwide sales, said, "SeekerTech's 'leveraged presence' model has the advantage of giving us a virtual sales team in Asia – a team fully knowledgeable about local cultures and languages – without hiring direct employees there. The SeekerTech staff has a proven track record in the networking and IT infrastructure space, expertise in channel development and demand creation, and established business relationships with customers and market influencers. Having them as our public face in the Asia Pacific region gives us immediate credibility there."
Among the first fruits of the SeekerTech alliance is the signing of GuoMai Technologies, based in Fuzhou, China, as a reseller. A publicly-held company on the Shenzhen exchange (symbol 002093.SZ), GuoMai specializes in computer and networking integration, reselling Juniper Networks products throughout China. Ackley said the GuoMai partnership "will give Packet Design visibility at the highest levels within China's enterprise and service provider networks."
