Company’s technology honored for innovation in WAN SDN management for service providers and enterprises
AUSTIN, Texas – Jan. 23, 2017 – Packet Design announced today that TMC, a global, integrated media company, has named its SDN Management and Orchestration (MANO) Platform as a 2016 SDN Product of the Year Award winner. Presented by TMC’s INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine, the SDN Product of the Year Awards recognize companies that are leading the way creating best-in-class SDN architecture and applications.
“SDN controllers lack management intelligence, which means they have carte blanche over your IP/MPLS network to make programmatic changes that may negatively impact other applications and services,” said Steve Harriman, senior vice president of marketing for Packet Design. “The Packet Design SDN MANO Platform uniquely provides enterprises and service providers the real-time intelligence required for effective SDN provisioning and management.”
Packet Design is the only company that correlates always-current routing and path behavior with traffic flows and network infrastructure performance. This enables customers to understand how routing events and failures affect the path and performance of critical service traffic. This real-time routing intelligence is the foundation for SDN MANO in the wide area network (WAN).
As a result, the Packet Design SDN MANO Platform provides access to the key analytics, optimization, and orchestration functions needed to intelligently provision network services and accelerate service activation via popular SDN controllers. For example, service providers are using the Packet Design platform to create networks that automatically adapt to business needs and run their networks hotter, enabling them to increase operating efficiency and differentiate their services.
“Recognizing leaders advancing SDN technologies, TMC is proud to announce Packet Design as a recipient of the 2016 SDN Product of the Year Award," said Rich Tehrani, CEO, TMC. “With the SDN MANO Platform, Packet Design has demonstrated innovation and will help shape the face of this rapidly-evolving industry. It is our pleasure to honor Packet Design for their inspiring work.”
Packet Design recently announced version 16 of its Explorer Suite, which is the foundation of its SDN MANO Platform.
