Reports

Route Explorer provides a comprehensive set of predefined reports that deliver key information related to the health and operation of your IP network. The reports allow network engineers to monitor overall network performance and quickly identify potential problems, leading to fast resolution and maximum availability.

Today, pinpointing the source of a routing-related problem is a time consuming, tedious task involving logging in to multiple routers or reviewing SYSLOG data in an attempt to determine the root cause. With Route Explorer, network operators can quickly access the data they need to understand and resolve complex routing issues. No other network management product provides such valuable reports specifically related to IP routing events.

Route Explorer reports are formatted in HTML and accessible from any web browser. The user simply selects a report from the list, selects the network database of interest, and specifies the time period for which they want to view the data. The report can be viewed on-screen or printed, as well as saved or forwarded to others allowing easy sharing of the information.

Route Explorer reports include:

  • Network Events Summary
A high level report that provides a summary of changes in the network including: number of network events, flapping links, changed link metrics, prefix origination changes, prefixes withdrawn and new prefixes advertised.
  • Flapping Links
A list of all routing links that have gone down and come up in a short (user specified) time period.
  • Prefix List
A list of all prefixes advertised on the network by the router advertising them.
  • and more.
