OpenDaylight Executive Director Neela Jacques to be keynote speaker at company’s Customer Symposium
AUSTIN, Texas – March 1, 2016 – Packet Design will host its second annual Symposium for customers and partners in Paris on March 6-7 prior to participating in the MPLS + SDN + NFV World Congress taking place March 8-11. Attendees from around the world will join Packet Design for the Symposium, where they will hear a keynote address by OpenDaylight Executive Director Neela Jacques. In addition, Packet Design CTO Cengiz Alaettinoglu will speak during the MPLS SDN track of the World Congress about the analytics needed for policy-aware management and orchestration (MANO) in multi-service SDNs.
Jacques will discuss “Preparing for Software Defined Networking and Network Functions Virtualization” during his address to Packet Design customers. He will examine the current state and future direction of open source in SDNs, present industry use cases, and describe the critical role of management software. He will also explain the new features in OpenDaylight Beryllium (ODL Be), its fourth open SDN platform release, which was announced last week.
Customers will also learn about Packet Design’s product roadmap, attend best practices workshops, participate in hands-on labs, test their knowledge in a problem-solving competition, and network with their peers. At the World Congress on Thursday, March 10 at 3 p.m. CET, Cengiz Alaettinoglu will discuss critical elements for “Policy-Aware MANO for Multi-Service SDNs,” including:
New protocol and open source developments, such as the IETF’s NETCONF/YANG, I2RS policy associations, and PCEP, and how together they facilitate end-to-end service activation;
Topology models, real-time and historical performance data, and traffic-matrices for each service class; and
Analytics algorithms for each service class that identify appropriate network resources to satisfy requests with maximum overall network efficiency.
Packet Design is a silver sponsor of the MPLS + SDN + NFV World Congress and will be exhibiting in booth #402. Both events will be held at the Marriott Rive Gauche Hotel & Conference Center in Paris.
Packet Design technology helps the leading network operators, enterprises, and government agencies across six continents deliver critical services across the cloud. The Explorer product suite uniquely combines routing, traffic, and performance analytics for real-time, path-aware operational monitoring and back-in-time forensics for troubleshooting transient problems that can cause major service disruptions. Interactive modeling helps engineers predict the impact of changes accurately, simulate new workloads for capacity planning, and test failure scenarios to build more resilient networks. With these analytics as a foundation, Packet Design is delivering SDN management and orchestration capabilities in complex, multi-service networks.
